RGi joins fight against ovarian cancer in honor of founding board member Carrie Gillotte

Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc. (RGi®) joins the fight against ovarian cancer, sponsoring a team of RGi’ers and family members who will cycle 300 miles from London to Paris in support of the Target Ovarian Cancer charity.

Earlier this year, we lost one of our founding and most beloved board members, Carrie Marie Gillotte, to ovarian cancer. The RGi Riders bicycle team will ride in honor of Carrie and all of the brave women battling this terrible disease.

The symptoms of ovarian cancer are often vague and subtle, making it difficult to diagnose. There is still no effective screening test for ovarian cancer. Only 19% of cases are caught before the cancer has spread beyond the ovary to the pelvic region, significantly impacting survival rates. Until we have better early detection tools, all women should be educated about the disease so they can achieve early diagnosis and successful treatment. Knowing the subtle signs and symptoms prevents cancer from stealing the lives from far too many vibrant, lovely women.

RGi chose to partner with Target Ovarian Cancer because of the organization’s extensive efforts to improve early diagnosis, fund life-saving research, and provide much-needed support to women with ovarian cancer.

With the goal of raising $3K, the RGi team will embark on their 4-day ride on September 12, 2018 in the English countryside, making their way through rural France before reaching the finish line at the Eiffel Tower.
