RGi on winning team for U.S. Army’s ENFIRE contract

Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc. (RGi®) was recently selected as a subcontractor to continue to provide software development and software and systems integration services for the U.S. Army’s Instrument Set, Reconnaissance and Surveying (common name: ENFIRE) program. This multi-year task order will enable soldiers and Army engineers to conduct faster, safer, and more accurate reconnaissance and surveying.

The ENFIRE program is a tactical engineering tool set designed to modernize the collection and dissemination of route reconnaissance engineering information. The data that engineers collect through the custom ENFIRE application can also be shared quickly and efficiently to decision makers, allowing for more effective mission planning.

“The Army’s mission to ensure the safety and security of our nation aligns directly with RGi’s objectives,” said Stephen Gillotte, RGi CEO. “We exist to deliver geospatial systems that provide immediate impact for soldiers and analysts working on national security issues. By using advanced data science and AI/ML technologies, we are helping the Army ensure dominance over our adversaries.”

Users of the ENFIRE application include the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserves, U.S. Army National Guard, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), US Marine Corps (USMC), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other Federal Government Agencies as required.

RGi hires former RGi Scholarship winner Beth Wiberg

It’s kismet! Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc. (RGi®) is pleased to announce that Beth Wiberg, a former recipient of the RGi Scholarship for Geospatial and Engineering, has joined the company as a Geospatial Programmer.

Beth won the $10,000 RGi Scholarship in 2020 while she was an undergraduate student at The Ohio State University. She has since received her Bachelor of Science degree in GIS, and honed her mapping, geocoding, data analysis, and data visualization skillset.

During her time in college, Beth also served in The Ohio State Army ROTC, where she completed rigorous physical and mental training programs, learned about military structure, and enhanced her leadership skills.

“Having one of our RGi Scholarship winners join our RGi family brings things full-circle,” said Sidney Medford, RGi COO. “We hire smart people, and Beth is the ideal blend of talent, leader, and big-thinker that will make many contributions to our team and our customers’ mission.”

RGi on winning team for U.S. Navy’s SeaPort-NxG contract for engineering solutions

Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc. (RGi®) was recently selected as a subcontractor on the U.S. Navy’s SeaPort Next Generation (SeaPort-NxG) contract to provide engineering solutions for the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. This multiple award indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract vehicle aims to enhance efficiencies, improve business intelligence, and reduce acquisition cycle time for all Navy and Marine Corps contracting offices.

Under this multiple award contract (MAC), RGi will offer solutions such as software development, artificial intelligence (AI) and automation; network and engineering support; interoperability, test and evaluation and trials support; and research and development.

“There are tremendous opportunities within this contract vehicle,” said Sidney Medford, RGi’s COO. “SeaPort-NxG gives us the opportunity to leverage the skill-set of our engineers and apply AI/ML to new mission sets to support the Navy and Marine Corps worldwide.

The government estimates the Navy will procure $5 billion worth of services annually through task orders issued under SeaPort-NxG. The MAC has a base period of 2.5 years and an additional ordering period of five years.

RGi lands Topographic Data Discovery prime contract with NGA

Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc. (RGi®) was selected by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) to provide the development and integration of metrics-based search and discovery to the growing volume and variety of topographic information. The single-award Topographic Data Discovery contract will enable higher utilization, greater effectiveness, and increased usability of geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) data holdings for NGA Analysts.

NGA’s mission success is critically dependent on managing GEOINT data as an asset with the ability to search, discover, protect, and access that information. Under this multi-year contract, RGi will support the mission by creating and integrating data automation capabilities that will expedite the delivery of user-centric software applications and modernize GEOINT tools for GEOINT Analysts. RGi will also develop metrics that baseline topographic features, and build a searchable system that will recommend products for a user based on their specific criteria.

“RGi is excited to expand our partnership with NGA to help advance data automation goals for the foundation GEOINT mission,” said Stephen Gillotte, CEO. “We’re ready to deliver a higher level of clarity, accessibility, and usability for the NGA customer community.”

The contract’s scope includes data science, AI/ML, research and development, and software engineering solutions.

4th annual RGi Scholarship awarded to Adrian Seemangal!

Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc. (RGi®) is pleased to announce that Adrian Seemangal has been selected as the recipient of our 4th annual $10,000 RGi Scholarship for Geospatial and Engineering, given in partnership with The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF).

Adrian is a junior at The University of Maryland (UMD), College Park, where he is majoring in Geographical Sciences and minoring in Russian Studies.

He first became interested in geospatial sciences through remote sensing, as he was fascinated by the concept of using false-color imagery to reveal information that our eyes cannot see. Upon joining UMD’s geography program, other aspects of geospatial sciences, such as GIS and spatial data science, also captivated him. More recently as an Analytic Methodologist Intern for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), he applied expertise in scientific analysis techniques to inform analysts on various quantitative methods they can use to solve GEOINT issues.

“Adrian is the perfect student to receive our RGi Scholarship, said RGi CEO, Stephen Gillotte. “He’s an advanced thinker who sees a challenge and is excited to create solutions. He’s a leader, a problem-solver, and he’s in it for the greater good. He’s also a martial arts instructor…Adrian does it all! I’m thrilled to have him in our RGi family.”

Adrian’s personal research interests include drone LIDAR mapping, and using artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) for remote sensing. Outside of his educational and professional work, Adrian does undergraduate research in spatial ecology for UMD’s Bill Fagan Lab, and serves as the Vice President of Flower STEM, a club dedicated to showcasing creativity within STEM fields.

RGi on winning team for DIA’s SITE III contract

Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc. (RGi®) was recently selected as a subcontractor for the Defense Intelligence Agency’s (DIA) Solutions for the Information Technology Enterprise III (SITE III) contract vehicle.

The SITE III contract provides a centralized and synchronized IT acquisition capability to meet worldwide security requirements and technical support services. Under this contract, RGi will offer software development and integration, data analytics, AI/ML engineering, and cyber situational awareness and understanding.

The 10-year multiple-award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract holds a total estimated value of $12.6 billion, and will also support the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA). SITE III is DIA’s third consecutive IDIQ contract to address the evolving information technology (IT) requirements vital to the security of the United States. The contract facilitates worldwide coverage for integrated IT intelligence requirements and technical support services to the DIA and NGA.

RGi wins NGA contract for Cloud-Based Software Development services

Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc. (RGi®) was recently selected to provide software engineering support to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). This project will provide valuable cloud-based software development expertise, integrating best-of-breed COTS, GOTS, and Open-Source applications to meet their highly demanding mission.

Specifically, RGi professionals will provide expertise in the development of a private cloud platform and integrating government-provided streaming data, contractor-procured data sources, analytics, and other tools and techniques into a fused environment hosted on the platform. The resulting system will leverage raw open source, derived, proprietary, and classified data to provide near-real time anomaly detection, event correlation, and predictive insights, increasing the warfighter’s ability to more rapidly make informed decisions on the battlefield.

Stephen Gillotte featured in Virginia Tech’s “50 for 50” celebration

Stephen Gillotte, CEO of Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc. (RGi®) and a Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) graduate, was recently chosen as one of 50 alumni featured in the Virginia Tech Computer Science (CS) Department’s 50th anniversary celebration. The “50 for 50” spotlights seek to showcase CS alumni who are industry leaders while inspiring the Hokie leaders of tomorrow.

Within the spotlight, Steve discusses the early stages of his technology career, which began in the third grade when he discovered the GW Basic interpreter and taught himself to program, as well as the path he took that led him to found RGi on his 30th birthday.

Steve also talks about how the CS Department helped equip him for running a successful small business by allowing him to focus on interdisciplinary skills, such as public speaking and the ability to communicate technology information to the outside world effectively.

RGi wins follow-on work to support the US Army intelligence community

Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc. (RGi®) was recently awarded a contract to continue providing critical geospatial intelligence support to the US Army’s enterprise intelligence system.  On this contract, RGi’s expertise in Software and Systems Engineering, as well as DevOps, will be instrumental to the program’s continued success.

RGi supports the enterprise system, based on Esri’s ArcGIS, and helps tailor various products to support Army’s Intelligence mission. Additionally, RGi offers support in systems engineering, architecture planning, analysis, design, and subject matter expertise to integrate and interoperate with existing COTS and GOTS platforms.
