Community Grant Program

Organization Eligibility

Grant awards range from $250 to $2,500. The annual grant cycle begins February 1st and the application deadline to apply is December 31st. Applications may be submitted at any time during this funding cycle.

Organizations must meet one of the following criteria:

  • An organization holding a current tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) or (19) of the Internal Revenue Code, listed in the IRS Master File that conduct activities in the United States
  • A recognized government entity: county, or city agency, including volunteer law enforcement or fire departments, that are requesting funds exclusively for public purposes
  • A K-12 public or private school, charter school, community/junior college, state/private college or university
  • A faith-based organization with a proposed project that benefits the community at large such as food pantries, soup kitchens, clothing closets, etc.
  • Individuals participating in youth programs requiring a “senior” graduation project looking to have a positive impact on their local community
Areas of Funding

There are eight areas of funding for which an organization can apply to address issues in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area or the City of St. Louis, MO. Please review the areas listed below to ensure your organization’s goals fall within one of these areas.

  • Hunger Relief: Providing charitable meals and/or snacks for low income individuals and families
  • Health & Human Service: Providing medical screening, treatment, social services, legal services, and/or shelters for low income individuals and families
  • Quality of Life: Improving access to recreation, arts or cultural experiences
  • Education: Providing after school enrichment, tutoring or vocational training for low income elementary, middle, and high school students
  • Soldier Well Being: Supporting our nation’s soldiers – whether deployed or at home – including PTSD-related support
  • Community and Economic development: Improving local communities for the benefit of low income individuals and families
  • Public Safety: Supporting public safety through training programs or equipment in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area or the City of St. Louis, MO
  • Environmental Sustainability: Preventing waste, increasing recycling or supporting other programs that work to improve the environment in the United States

Geographic Preference

Priority will be given to projects based in:

  • Maryland: Baltimore County and Hartford County
  • Virginia: Fairfax County, Loudoun County, and Prince William County
  • Missouri: City of St. Louis
Selection Process

The RGi Group, Inc. will review the application and make initial funding recommendations on all submitted requests. The corporation will set the frequency and process in which application determinations are made.

The RGi Group, Inc., and the grant administrator, reserve the right to adjust the amount awarded to each organization without prior notice. Organizations will be notified of any decision via e-mail 4-6 weeks after submission.

If an organization is approved, grant checks will be mailed directly to the recipient organization’s address listed in the grant application. Please allow two to four weeks for delivery. Organizations will work with The RGi Group, Inc. to schedule a formal recognition event.

Submitting an application does not guarantee funding. Awards will be made at the sole discretion of The RGi Group, Inc. All funding decisions are final.

All grant applications are made subject to The RGi Group Inc.’s review of the organization’s reputation and activities, and the organization’s agreement to comply with our terms and conditions. We reserve the right to decline funding to any organization based on our review of the organization’s reputation and activities.

Note: Federal Government agencies/employees are NOT eligible for program awards.
