RGi CEO Stephen Gillotte joins USGIF Academic Advisory Board

Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc. (RGi®) is proud to announce that our CEO, Stephen Gillotte, has been named to the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation’s (USGIF’s) Academic Advisory Board (AAB).

While in this role, Steve will provide insight and oversight to help steer USGIF and the GEOINT educational community towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, professional, and innovative approaches. As a Board member, he will also ensure the USGIF’s accredited undergraduate and graduate academic programs are growing, recognized, forward-looking, and are achieving a standard of excellence in the GEOINT field.

NOVA Chamber names Stephen Gillotte 2018 Emerging Influential of the Year

As part of its annual Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Awards, the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce named RGi CEO Stephen Gillotte as the 2018 Emerging Influential of the Year.

This prestigious award recognizes an exceptional leader who embodies how business success and community involvement go hand-in-hand to impact the DC metro region.

“I’ve always believed that community involvement is not a spectator sport,” said Steve. “Creating an immediate impact in the neighborhoods where we live, socialize, work, and play is a top priority for myself and all RGi’ers.”

Steve’s contributions range from establishing RGi’s Power Pack Program (P3) in partnership with Food For Others, to leading by example with RGi’s involvement with the Hypothermia Prevention and Response Program, to creating an RGi Community Grant Program – all benefitting local communities.

Along with Steve’s award, RGi received second place for the Outstanding Corporate Citizen of the Year award in the Small Business category for its above-and-beyond corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts. More than 30 RGi’ers, friends, and family members contributed to the various RGi programs during the past two years, creating an immediate and lasting impact in our local communities.

AFCEA recognizes Stephen Gillotte with 40 Under 40 Award

Selected from a field of global nominees, Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc.’s (RGi’s®) CEO Stephen Gillotte has been chosen as one of AFCEA International’s 40 Under 40 Award winners. An AFCEA executive board chose Steve based on the technical accomplishments in his career, and his significant contributions to clients through the use of innovation and thought leadership in a STEM field.

Winners will be recognized on May 16, 2018 as part of AFCEA’s Defensive Cyber Operations Symposium in Baltimore, MD. Additional information about AFCEA’s 40 Under 40 Award and a list of winners is available on the AFCEA website.

RGi partners with USGIF to offer $10,000 needs-based scholarship

Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc. (RGi®) has partnered with The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) to offer a new award as part of its 2018 USGIF Scholarship Program.

The $10,000 RGi Scholarship for Geospatial and Engineering will be awarded to an undergraduate who demonstrates financial need and is interested in or studying both the engineering and geospatial disciplines.

“RGi has a long history of supporting student growth and development, and we are thrilled to continue these efforts with USGIF through an annual RGi scholarship,” said RGi CEO Stephen Gillotte. “We need to continue to build a diverse base of students who are passionate about the future of GEOINT.”

Every year, USGIF awards scholarships of various amounts to exceptional students studying the geospatial sciences and related fields. In total, USGIF has awarded more than $1.1 million in scholarships since the program began in 2004. “USGIF and RGi have partnered to recognize and support those students with a geospatial and engineering background who are committed to becoming competitive in this market,” said USGIF Director of Academic Programs Dr. Camelia Kantor.

RGi CEO Stephen Gillotte advises UMD grad students on GEOINT careers

Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc’s (RGi’s®) CEO Stephen Gillotte presented to a group of University of Maryland’s (UMD) Center for Geospatial Information Science graduate students on geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) careers in the Defense and Intelligence space.

Steve’s discussion with the students centered around what career options students have both pre- and post-graduation, including roles within academia, government contracting and direct government employment. Steve shared his own personal story of how he took his passion for GEOINT and created a company in RGi that works with numerous Defense, Intelligence and Federal agencies to make an Immediate ImpactTM on the safety and security of our nation.

While still in its first year as a Masters-level program, the UMD GEOINT program expects a surge in enrollment given the Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia area has one of the highest concentrations of GEOINT jobs in the United States.  For more information on the UMD GEOINT program, click here.

RGi names Glenn Gillis Director, Business Development and Strategic Growth

Reinventing Geospatial®, Inc. (RGi®) has appointed Glenn Gillis as our new Director, Business Development and Strategic Growth. In this capacity, Gillis will lead RGi’s growth with new and existing Military C4ISR customers.

“With growth that has nearly doubled each year since our founding, we are thrilled to have Glenn join our team, providing the strategic direction we need to continue our rapid trajectory,” said Stephen Gillotte, RGi CEO. “Glenn is a senior BD executive who has both the high-level executive presence and the ability to roll up his sleeves as a hands-on executor.”

Gillis brings 34 years of C4ISR, cyber, comms/networks, high-performance community and Intel systems experience to RGi. Prior to joining our team, he was the Senior Business Development Executive at CACI and SURVICE Engineering Company, where he provided strategic direction and led business development efforts on the C4ISR market portfolio in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, resulting in more than $300M in new business.

American Geographical Society spotlights RGi

The American Geographical Society (AGS) recently published an article featuring RGi and our CEO, Steve Gillotte. The article discusses how RGi works to “improve the mobility of data and information in austere environments by providing consistent and reliable access to geospatial data and information to disadvantaged users.” The article goes on to highlight RGi’s R&D investment in Predictive Activity Based Planning, and how the team is exploring how machine learning and natural language processing algorithms can analyze Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) and strategic/tactical operational data in order to predict the likelihood that an event will take place.

RGi is proud to announce that our CEO, Steve Gillotte has been named to the Virginia Tech Computer Science Department’s Advisory Board. While in this role, Steve will advise the department head on initiatives and overall direction of the department, and engage with current students to encourage and enhance their educational experience.  “As a Virginia Tech CS alum, it feels great to give back to the organization that was so foundational to my own career,” Steve said. “I’ve always been passionate about education and helping the professional development of students, so it’s an honor to be a part of this distinguished group.”
